Introduction to Fly Fishing

Where: Northwoods Stewardship Center: Island Pond, VT

When: June 4th, 9:00am-1:00pm

Details: Learn the basics of fly fishing in a fun hands on environment on Saturday June 4th from 9am-1pm at the Northwood's Stewardship Center. Chief Lets Go Fishing Instructor Paul Noel will be covering topics such as tackle, entomology, casting, flies, ecology and so much more! The day will conclude with fly fishing on a pond.

Details: Learn the basics of fly fishing in a fun hands on environment on June 28th from 5pm-8pm at the Intervale Center. Topics covered will include tackle, entomology, casting, flies, ecology and so much more! The evening will conclude with fly fishing on a small pond.

FREE Family Fishing Festival

Here's a chance for young anglers and families to learn fishing basics and maybe latch on to a big trout in the hatchery pond! 

WHERE: Ed Weed Fish Culture Station, 14 Bell Hill Road, Grand Isle | map
WHEN: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 
WHAT: The day will be filled with a variety of activities from fish biology, fly casting, law digest and regulations, lure making, fish cleaning and more!

This program will cover the basics that you need to know to be successful targeting bullhead in Vermont! Topics covered will include techniques, ecology, fish identification and more. Equipment will be provided. Participants should bring a flashlight and appropriate clothing.
