About the Web Guide

This website helps private landowners, towns, regional planning commissions, and NGOs, navigate the growing community of technical assistance providers that help towns and landowners make natural resource and land use decisions. In the broadest sense, all technical assistance programs share the goals of increasing public awareness and understanding of the State's natural and cultural heritage and providing communities with options on how to conserve these features. The Fish & Wildlife Department has long worked in this capacity, but it is not alone in this effort. As part of a growing movement in Vermont that addresses a diversity of issues from forestry to wildlife habitat to community development; it is important that we are aware of each others work in order to find the assistance we are looking for.

If you are a looking for an organization to help you or your town, you can use this website as a searchable database to find an appropriate organization to help. Simply use the search engine on the right to look up the technical assistance providers in the region in which you live/work that specialize in your topic of interest (e.g. forestry, wildlife, conservation, etc.).

If you are a Technical Assistance Provider, you can register your program here to enter it into our database. The database will display your organizational and program information, the details about your assistance program and what services you offer.

If you have any questions about searching or registering with the database, please contact: Contact Us.
