Vermont's natural environment is a priceless inheritance. Over the years, the Vermont
Agency of Natural Resources has secured more than 469,000 acres of the state's natural
spaces for the continued enjoyment of Vermonters and its visitors. These holdings
include:
- state parks and forests
- wildlife management areas
- conservation camps
- boating access areas
- stream bank parcels
- dam sites
However, this investment is increasingly at risk as the cost to maintain the state's
land and facilities outpaces the availability of public funds. The Vermont's Land and
Facility Trust Fund allows Vermonters and friends to directly support the continued
preservation of these natural spaces.

How the Fund Helps
The Fund cannot be used to buy land. But, once fully established, the Fund will help
cover certain costs such as:
- Repair and maintenance of state parks and conservation camps
- Maintenance of state lands including boundaries, roads, trials, and facilities
- Surveys and mapping
- Timber management
- Natural inventories of state lands
- Repair of state-owned dams
What You Can Do
Here are just a few ways you can help:
- Tax-deductible Donations - all contributions are tax deductible
- Directed Gift - you can stipulate that your donation go toward a specific conservation
camp, parcel of land, park or project
- Bequest - including a contribution to the Fund in your will allows you to leave a lasting
legacy for future generations of Vermonters
If you would like more information on how you can support the Fund, contact the
Commissioner, Department of Forest, Parks & Recreation, 103 South Main Street, Waterbury,
