Permit and Survey Form
The special spring conservation order for snow geese is designed to increase harvest of these birds, which have increased to one million birds in the Atlantic Flyway and now threaten the long-term health of the ecosystems they inhabit. As a requirement for establishing a spring conservation order in Vermont, we must collect information on hunter participation and snow goose harvest. This information will help managers assess effectiveness of the spring conservation order for reducing snow goose populations.
A permit is required to participate in the 2013 Spring Snow Goose Conservation Order. To obtain a permit, click on the "Request Permit" button below and fill in the needed information. A permit will automatically be created, which you can print out and carry with you while hunting. Please be sure to sign it!
At the end of the special spring conservation order for snow geese, you are required to take a few minutes to accurately and completely fill out a survey online, even if you did not participate or bag any geese.
To complete the survey online, click "Fill Out Survey", enter your name and permit number, and click "Submit". Once you complete the survey, click "Submit Survey". If you prefer, you may also print a copy of this survey, fill it in during the season and mail it to Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, 111 West Street, Essex Junction, VT, 05452. Please complete and submit the survey by May 15, 2013
