WELCOME to the web page of the Agency of Natural Resources, Enforcement Division. We are the division within this agency that investigates and formally enforces the environmental laws and regulations of Vermont.

The work we do is connected, often in a very clear and direct way, to matters of public health and environmental protection. With so much at stake, we take our work very seriously. Fortunately, I; can proudly say that because our staff consists of highly-motivated, well-trained, experienced professionals, we are up to the challenge. We are guided by the "rule of law" in our daily work while always mindful of the importance to make informed judgments and to exercise our enforcement discretion in a sound manner. In the end, I believe that we produce enforcement results which are fair and consistent.

I can confidently report to you that we are diligent in our effort to uphold the public trust interests which have been delegated to us. We understand and respect our responsibilities and, because we are a cohesive unit of high morale, we are always prepared to step up to the next level of challenges we may encounter.
