As the arm of the Fish and Wildlife Department charged with communications, the

public.

Every aspect of the division's mission involves taking complex technical
information and making it understandable and available to the people of Vermont
who want to know about wildlife. The division coordinates a corps of 500 dedicated
hunter education volunteers, operates two conservation camps that annually serve
900 children and provides wildlife educational curricula to thousands of Vermont
school children and their teachers.
Major Responsibilities
- Educate Vermont students, teachers, and citizens through efforts such as teachers'
workshops, the Green Mountain Conservation Camps, Becoming an Outdoors Woman program,
Project WILD, Aquatic WILD, Let's Go Fishing, and hunter and trapper
education courses
- Promote ethical, sustainable recreational opportunities with outreach
activities--including posters, advertising, videos, publications, exhibits, and
the department's internet presence
- Provide informational programs and services that include media relations
activities, special events, and production of publications like the annual law
digest to keep the public informed about department activities and initiatives
